Mr. Venu Bhamidi is a vascular specialist currently practising in Auckland. Following the completion of his undergraduate training in Australia, Mr. Bhamidi chose to focus on vascular surgery, undergoing specialist training – before completing a fellowship at Toronto General Hospital in Canada. As a specialist surgeon, Mr. Bhamidi is able to provide treatment for all medical and surgical aspects of vascular disease.

A vascular surgeon specialises in diseases and problems affecting the circulation, including blockages or dilatation of arteries, veins and lymphatics. They are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting all parts of the vascular system – aside from the heart and brain. As technology rapidly evolves, vascular surgery is increasingly trending towards minimally invasive (endovascular) techniques as the preferred method of treatment. Mr. Bhamidi performs a wide range of procedures, including Aneurysm surgery, Peripheral arterial interventions, Leg bypass surgery, Carotid surgery, Port-a-cath insertion and removal, Varicose vein treatment (including sclerotherapy and endovenous therapy), Thoracic outlet decompression, and management of diabetic foot disease, ulcers and wounds.

Mr. Venu Bhamidi maintains a busy public practice at Auckland City Hospital, consults at Waitakere, Greenlane, North Shore and Whangarei Hospitals, and is a Senior Lecturer (Hon) in the Department of Surgery at the University of Auckland. His private rooms are located Located in Ascot Hospital, with satellite clinics in Silverdale and Warkworth.
